Gay-not a lifestyle

When opinions are given on homosexuality, the term “lifestyle” has been used. According to Dictionary.com, lifestyle is defined as “the habits, attitudes, tastes, moral standards, economic level, etc., that together constitute the mode of living of an individual or group.” According to Wikipedia.org, “in sociology, lifestyle is the way a person lives.”

Being a vegetarian is a lifestyle. A naturist adopts that lifestyle. Living “green” is a lifestyle. Homosexuality is not a lifestyle.

One is born a homosexual. No one would choose to be shunned, alienated, abandoned, emotionally abused, physically abused or murdered. No one chooses to live a life in fear. All anyone wants is to be unconditionally loved and accepted equally.

In the end, “the greatest gift is to love and be loved in return.”

Donate your musical instruments

Do you want to make a difference? If you’ve got an old, once loved, instrument lying around - anything from a violin to a sackbut - then you could pledge it to Time Out ‘No Strings Attached’ campaign.

Time Out is working together with the Mayor of London to get children off the streets, and to help them make music together. With just one very simple gift, you could help make that all happen.

One hundred and forty years ago the word homosexuality was invented.

Filed under: RR — admin @ 1:15 pm

Before then, there were very few value-neutral words to describe people who experienced romantic or sexual attractions toward others of the same sex. Pejoratives such as “bugger,” “molly,” “sodomite,” or “pederast” were common, words loaded with condemnation and shame. But as the budding science of sexology began to grow, and as same-sex loving defenders began to speak out about what same-sex love was all about, their first problem was with how to name it. “Abominable vice” wouldn’t do. A new word was desperately needed to describe their lives and feelings.

The love that dared not speak its name couldn’t. It didn’t have one.

Rainbow Rampage Partners With Charity: Stonewall- Equality & Justice for Lesbians, Gay Men & Bisexuals

Filed under: RR — admin @ 12:40 pm

Founded in 1989, Stonewall has become an international leader in LGBT advocacy actively assisting in the passing of major legislation to pass equality, civil partnership and adoption rights. Together we aim to further broadcast the tremendous good work they are doing with donations from participants and visibility during the event that passes through Europe’s greatest cities; Paris, Amsterdam, Hamburg, Berlin, Prague, Vienna and Budapest. The Rainbow Rampage may be billed as, “The Ultimate Gay Party” but we hope that as participants travel through Europe- the rainbow of gay identities, personality and style will be an exciting way to make new friends and promote a positive message about LGBT people across the continent.
